At the Y protection and safety of children, teens, members, staff and volunteers is a priority. Please review our Participation Statement before attending the Y with your child/teen.
Children under the age of 10 years must be constantly and directly supervised while in the facility, and signed in and out of programs, by a caregiver aged 16+ years. Children under the age of 10 years cannot be left unattended in the facility – this includes watching fitness classes or sitting outside the Activity Rooms.
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in fitness spaces.
Children requiring pool access who are ages 6-9 years and are accompanied by a caregiver of the opposite gender are required to use the Universal change room.
Children under the age of 7 must be within arms-reach of their caregiver while in the pool environment, at all times. Caregivers can accompany a maximum of 3 children under the age of 7.
Children aged 10-12 years are welcome to use designated areas (Pool and Activity Room 3) of the facility unaccompanied and attend age-appropriate programming. Children age 10+ can sign themselves in/out of Children’s Recreation programs.
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in fitness spaces.
- Children 10+ years are welcome at any Lane Swim for length swimming.
Parents/caregivers who are not Y members must also sign in at the Membership Service Desk on each visit.
Teens aged 13+ years can utilize all areas of the Y and attend most programming.
- Teens 13-15 years must complete a Teen Orientation before using the Fitness Centre or Functional Fitness Room.
- Teens 13+ are welcome to attend all Fitness Classes
- Teens 13+ are welcome at Teen and Adult Swim Lessons
- Adult Swim times are reserved for 18+
