Located inside PEXSISEN Elementary School, the PEXSISEN YMCA-YWCA Child Care provides much needed child care services to one of BC’s fastest growing school districts.
PEXSISEN YMCA-YWCA Child Care offers 22 spaces for children aged 30 months to school age and 54 spaces for before and after school care.
Due to the high demand for child care spaces, all spaces are available for full week care only.
Hours of Operation:
Early Years Program – ages 30 months – 5 years: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 2:00pm
School Age Program: Monday – Friday 7:00am – first school bell & last school bell – 5:30pm

We are pleased to confirm that PEXSISEN YMCA-YWCA Child Care participates in the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative to reduce parent fees. Parent fee reduction amounts are prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Child Care and are based on the age and type of care a child is registered in. The YMCA-YWCA of Vancouver Island welcomes families using the Affordable Child Care Benefit.
Child Care fees include all program costs; including enriched program activities, and a nutritious morning and afternoon snack. The YMCA-YWCA of Vancouver Island reviews its fees on an annual basis.
Our programs close for Statutory holidays, 3 staff professional development days, and for a winter break at the end of December. Closure dates will be confirmed with registered families each calendar year.
Full day school age child care will be available on some school non-instructional days, winter, spring and summer breaks, and will be registered separately from before and after school care.
