The Y Outdoor Centre, home of Camp Thunderbird, is nestled in the Sooke Foothills and has provided outdoor experiences for children and youth since 1935. Our staff team provide opportunities for young people to challenge themselves, build their self awareness, social skills, take a break from technology and reconnect with themselves, others and the natural environment through our Outdoor Education and Summer Camp programs.

BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) Canadians aged 17 to 25 can apply to the YMCA Camp Equitable Employment Fund (CEEF), which exists to decrease barriers to employment at camps for people traditionally marginalized and underrepresented in the camping industry. The Y offers many ways for our community to get moving and build healthy habits at our two Health, Fitness & Aquatic Centres the Downtown Victoria Y and Langford Westhills Y.  Our staff team includes roles to support our membership education and sales, aquatics, maintenance, custodial, fitness, child/family programs, and more!

The YMCA-YWCA has been providing child care in Victoria for over 45 years and is a provider of quality child care. A team of early childhood educators and assistants ensure our programs provide safe, healthy, creative places where children can play in small groups, develop rewarding relationships, learn new skills and have a lot of FUN!

The Vancouver Island Y’s Association Services (administration) supports overall administrative operations from finance, payroll to centralized customer services.  Our team ensures the smooth operations from behind the scenes from our offices in Langford, BC.

Recognizing that health has many determinants the Y strives to create programs, opportunities and experiences that enhance community wellness.  Our staff and volunteer team support various programs to help clients overcome barriers and get back on the right track to where they want to be.
