This day camp for campers who have completed grades 6-8 is ideal for both new and returning campers. Come and experience the next level of summer camp programs! Campers learn advanced skills in canoeing, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, and other camp activities.  For example, rock climbing will take place at our hike-in climbing area (Nicola Ridge); you will take a day hike to different and spectacular areas in the Sooke Hills (on our property!), and in general campers will build on the skills learned in the various camp activities. Campers also in swimming, archery, atlatl, team games and nature explorations. The staff ratio is 1:5, and campers should pack a lunch and snacks to fuel them for each long day.

COVID-19 Screening – Before Boarding the Bus

Campers and one caregiver will be asked to arrive at the bus stop 15 minutes before the scheduled bus departure times in order to allow enough time to complete the required COVID-19 pre-screening process with all families. Screening will also occur at camp for anyone who is driven to camp directly by a parent or guardian. Please be patient. Our experience conducting the COVID-19 pre-screening last year was effective and efficient. Mask wearing is required for staff and campers on the bus.

COVID-19 Safety Measures and Program Adjustments

We continue to monitor Public Health Orders and Recommendations. Our practices will evolve as updated information and regulations are made available. In 2020 we operated a safe and successful Day Camp program, and we will once again meet any/all requirements. Core changes that were implemented in 2020 include the practice of all campers staying in their small groups for their entire time at camp. Campfire, multi-group swim time and other large-group programs are altered or replaced, to maintain physical distancing requirements. More handwashing facilities are in place and we use masks / hand sanitizer regularly. For more specific details on safety measures, please see the Covid-19   page
